Simple Accelleration Teacher

Ok so I came up with this idea and figured I'd bounce it off you guys. It's a very simple device designed to teach the lead foot drivers how fast you should accelerate (gray matter adjustment). I know it's not perfect and doesn't take in to account the individual vehicle. But I figure you could build one for a couple of bucks. So it could potentially be something you could hand out to someone interested in improving their driving (ecomodder logo?).

The whole idea behind it is a needle connected to a small weight. The faster you accelerate the more the weight will pull towards you, moving the needle upwards. I also realize going up hill would cause the needle to go up because it also acts like a level. I feel like this would encourage people to slow down a bit while climbing hills (This is good right?). Also going down hill would push the needle downwards giving people the idea it's ok to pick up speed going down the hill.
