rustygirl,
Yes, I have an alternator cut and used it last year - I recommend it.

As long as your fuel level will gravity feed to the mechanical fuel pump you should be ok. If you want to give it a test, unhook your elec fuel pump, then go find a steep uphill. If Bridget starves out for fuel, then your mechanical pump can't lift very well and you'll need the electric also. I have both (same as you) but Centurion's fuel tank/fuel level is way higher than the mechanical pump's inlet so the electric is primarily used during a fuel filter change or to purge the system of air..

Can't tell from your photo - but do you have a decompressor?

The fuse issue here is in the glow-plug and starter solenoid loop. New glow plugs may be a little "hotter" than the 1981 model, and the solenoid may have taken on some condensation - will deal with that tomorrow.

The clutch master is the original 1966 unit so it's due for rebuild or replacement. Time to throw a blanket over the baby and call it a night
