Actually I don't expect gas to get expensive too quickly. Oil reserves are getting pretty full right now (it was on the news this morning) and the speculators are going to have to either start releasing it or else stop storing it, and in either case I think we'll see a brief glut on the market and gas prices will take another dip. One analyst was quoted as saying crude could go below $20/bbl.

The mind boggles. Because a certain broad segment of the population has next to no long-term memory, sales of full-size trucks will take a jump (followed next year by a glut on the market of one-year-old used full size trucks), and prices on used economy cars and hybrids will plummet.

Start warming up your checkbooks, boys. Flyweights are gonna get cheap.
