Actually I don't expect gas to get expensive too quickly. Oil reserves are getting pretty full right now (it was on the news this morning) and the speculators are going to have to either start releasing it or else stop storing it, and in either case I think we'll see a brief glut on the market and gas prices will take another dip. One analyst was quoted as saying crude could go below $20/bbl.

The mind boggles. Because a certain broad segment of the population has next to no long-term memory, sales of full-size trucks will take a jump (followed next year by a glut on the market of one-year-old used full size trucks), and prices on used economy cars and hybrids will plummet.

Start warming up your checkbooks, boys. Flyweights are gonna get cheap.

It is crazy how some people cannot make the connection of Eco-driving being a "Sport" just as racing is. Just met a guy with a huge drag racing Chevelle, great guy, but when I told him I drive more for fuel efficiency, he looked at me like I shot Lincoln.

What do you do to make your Chevelle fast? Tune? Parts? Select the right tire combo? Aerodynamics? Getting your gears correct? Feather the throttle when necessary?

So the only difference between me and you, is I like to save money, you like to make money turn into smoke. *shrug*

Heh. There is more making things look "fast" than achieving anything. How much of us waste time making our cars look economical without actually improving anything?

Ouch! I just paid $2.05 yesterday. Granted I did drive to a station ~12 miles from home or would have been $2.25, but I'm wanting to see how long it will take before a full tank of gas exceeds $20. The drive also gave me a good chance to play with my OBD reader.

Walmart was $2.05 but I paid $2.18 instead of driving far enough to burn a gallon to save 98 cents.

I could ride the bike there, with a 5 gallon jug strapped on the back, but then I think about pre mortem cremation as not a very good choice.

Haha! Can't say I blame you on that, but since it's 5 miles to the closest store and I'm still looking for reasons to drive because the novelty of something different hasn't worn off, I didn't mind a bit. Hell, I'm just barely past the point of trying to find a reason to drive places.
