2003 Camry 2.4L mileage: Florida to Ottawa ... 33 mpg US
I just did 1600 miles / 2570 km in a 2003 Camry 2.4L (not in the car that I started this thread about, but identical specs).
This was with no mods, even the tires were at placard pressure.
33 MPG US = 7.1 L/100 km = 40 mpg (Imp)
Highway rating for this car is 29 mpg.
Route & conditions:
Almost entirely interstate travel. Includes a detour to St Augustine, plus around 15 miles of stop & go north of Richmond, VA.
Roads were mostly dry. Blustery headwinds & crosswinds for probably half the trip. Temps ranged all over the map from ~20C / 68F in the south to around freezing in the mornings in the northern portion.
Driving style:
Mostly cruise control, generally a couple to 5 over the posted limit (which ranged from 55 - 70 mph). Lots of looking well ahead to adjust speed early for speed changes (to minimize braking, especially in congestion). The average speed per the ScanGauge over 2 of the tanks (which includes time spent stopped when the ignition is on) was ~60 mph (97 km/h).
The ScanGauge read about 10% optimistic against MPG calculations at the pump. So, assuming this car is the same as the 2002 used in post #1, the numbers in that graph can be revised down by the same amount.
