I've been told by various people that a stronger battery has less voltage variation, so I'd infer that 168 is a better number than 174, all else being equal. It also depends on temperature though; in warmer weather, the voltage will be lower.

I did another grid charge a few weeks ago, and the results were astounding. The battery is actually stronger than it has ever been. Maybe it's because I've never done one quite as long? 48 hours of trickle from a low-ish state of charge, then I let it sit for about 6 hours before driving it, and now I can give moderate to high assist for 10-15 minutes straight (at least! because I haven't actually run it completely down since then).
