About time!

Lookee what got installed at the end of last week. The wideband is in and it is working very well!

The exhaust shop put the WBO2 in the catalytic converter before the brick. They had it in very quickly, and allowed me to stay in the shop and watch them install it. It had to be installed at a certain place and at an angle greater than, or equal to, 10 degrees. They listened to me and asked me several times to check the work to make 100% sure it was right.

If you are ever around Benson/McGee's Crossroads in NC and need exhaust work, stop on by - REH Automotive

The above AFRs are during lean cruise. It turns out that the I was running dangerously lean at times! The gauge would shoot to 20:1 and start flashing which means the gauge sensed AFRs over 20:1 for more than 3 seconds. Yikes!

It took some tuning with the touchy penitometer, but it now will go straight to 16.5-17.3 AFRs with the flip of the switch and stay there till the PCM freaks

When the PCM "freaks", it goes into open loop and the AFRs go waayyy past 20:1. This causes an incredible loss in power, surging and shaking. To get back into closed loop, the box is switched off and the car goes into Neutral for a 3-6 second coast. Then it is back in gear and lean burn is back for another few minutes!

Also, I left lean burn accidentally while coasting to a stop sign yesterday. What surprised me was the AFRs were 10:1 and flashing! Super rich! Who would have thought that a modified MAF signal a idle would cause a super rich condition??
