I caught up on the DIYelectric thread. Awesome work. I was happy for you when you borrowed the Tesla vacuum pump detail. OTOH it confirms my first conversion should in fact be a single speed, without air conditioning.
Speaking of which, there isn't a build thread yet, but I'm collecting parts. The Toyota MGR thread had sputtered to a stop, but
I added a post.
If you wouldn't mind taking a look, I'd be interested in your opinion.
My goal is to complete at least the mounts and axle conversion. I just think the physical fit should be demonstrated to get people away from hanging a 200lb motor on the VW transaxle. There're newer units in the 2017 Acura MDX and some Honda that have torque vectoring.
