I think it is easy for us to imagine a teardrop shape as aerodynamic, however it gets tricky with the ground plane interaction. It's like the elephant in the room. We all know that it's there, we just don't talk about it as much as the other stuff which is more easily identifiable visually. |
If this is the Barrett 50-cal. sniper setup,this would be a vectored supersonic shock-wave/pressure-wave propagating from the muzzle brake,helping to stabilize the barrel for the next shot if necessary.
Not quite as dramatic as the M.O.A.B.,22,000-pounder's,but quite telling!
