Oh yeah, and to add to the discussion, I can only assume that the heat coming off of the transmission tunnel in the miata is from the exhaust pipe, not the transmission, so even fwd cars COULD have that heat problem. However, I have never felt heat coming from that tunnel in any cars but the miata and S2000. OP, can you feel heat coming from the tunnel?
