Factor in colder winters, plus driving style. A lot of the distance put on the car by my friends is probably @ 120 km/h / 75 mph on the freeway.

It's been getting colder here - we had our first snowfall today.
Ambient temps just below freezing, running the cabin heat on low (probably too low for most people), I could *just* get to town on a full charge, driving very conservatively (under the limit much of the time). 35 km / 22 mi.
So today I figured out how to work the confusingly-labelled remote "Hold for AC" function (on the key fob) to pre-
warm the car while it's plugged in. Very nice. Judging by threads on Prius chat, there are a lot of people who are confused by this feature, and understandably so.
And today I remembered I've driven another EV on this same stretch of highway I've been running the past few days:
I was once invited to give a presentation about the ForkenSwift at a little town around 10 years ago. Cruising speed for the ~70 km round trip was 50-60 km/h (pulling onto the shoulder a lot to let people pass). And I stopped half way there AND back for a top-up charge at a friend's place!
Times have changed.
