So, does the i3 base its state of charge off of voltage? That is, simply adding more modules to it (in parallel) works?

I know with most hybrids based on nickel chemistries, doubling the amp hours doesn't increase the usable capacity because the computers have to track state of charge through an amp meter and a computer model of battery capacity, since voltage isn't an indicator of state of charge.
