Weight reduction fail

The car came with a trailer hitch ... it's not rated for towing, but lots of owners use them for bike racks or light utility trailers.

6 nuts/bolts -- and I was foiled by every one! Rusted!

I broke one bolt, and couldn't budge the other 5. WD-40 couldn't save me.

I guess I gotta take it to my neighbourhood mechanic to break them loose with some heat & impact. (I've got neither.)

One day I'll make a hitch-mounted boat tail for the car, but probably not this year, so I might as well stop moving around the extra mass.
