I noticed that too; mine have the curvy zone close to the window. Once you get used to it, it really does show more than the OEM mirror.
One thing to watch out for though.... on multiple lane highways, sometimes it's hard to tell if the car you see is in the lane next to you or the next one over. (most of my commute is with 4-6 lanes of traffic going the same direction as me)
