Inside side view Mirrors (Mirror Delete)

I recently removed my passenger side outside mirror to gain a little mileage. I have been missing having a mirror on that side, so I made a couple inside ones.

I used convex mirrors to help with the blind spots. What I used to mount them was a brake controller bracket and 3M double sided tape(if mounting to plastic make sure to clean with alcholol and use plastic primer or adhesive promoter)

I cut the brake control bracket in half to give me (2) 90 degree pieces I bent these slightly to align my view point.

my method was a bit more complicated and costly but makes is reasonably adjustable. I cut off the double ball jointed arm off a rear view mirror and mounted a convex mirror to it. i used a stick on rear view mirror mount on the plastic on the A-pillar, similar to what bbjsw did. total cost was $15 or so. the adjustability is really nice. that mirror combined with a wide-angle convex rear view center mirror gives me a wider range of vision than a traditional set up.

Sorry this is OT, but what kind of A-pillar pod is that (brand/source, I mean), and do you need to dismangle the pillar to attach it, or does it just stick on over what's there?

The gauge pod I have is from a 91 Dodge Stealth, that I modified to fit a 02 Civic, Then a 88 CRX and now the Metro. So It is kinda mangled itself at this point. I don't like to throw things like that away, Recycle anything I can on cars.

So I would just recommend buying a universal pod and fit it to your application. All it takes is time and a little thinking. Sorry I couldn't help more.

Hi,

Will you be able to delete the driver's side outside mirror?

Also, would you get a better/larger view of the outside if the mirrors were rotated 180 degrees; so that the radius was on the lower inside corner? That way the straighter edge could be positioned close(r) to the window, and show more of the outside, and less of the inside.

Hello,
I plan on deleting drivers mirror once I get used to the convex one.

Rotating the mirror would make it worse, this orientation is the best I could come up with on these. Plus the pictures are kinda misleading I see more of the outside than shown in pictures.

I noticed that too; mine have the curvy zone close to the window. Once you get used to it, it really does show more than the OEM mirror.
One thing to watch out for though.... on multiple lane highways, sometimes it's hard to tell if the car you see is in the lane next to you or the next one over. (most of my commute is with 4-6 lanes of traffic going the same direction as me)

I used little round blind spot mirrors that are mounted at an angle to the base. The angled part can be rotated to point the mirror in different directions, and this works ok. It seems like the convex mirrors aren't very sensitive to adjustment.

They're stuck to the upper window frame with a little L-shaped piece of aluminum and some 3M Automotive Badge and Emblem double-stick foam tape. The tape is good stuff, you can find it at automotive paint supply stores, and sometimes at a regular auto parts place.
