I've seen the local dealers offering the basic Yaris and basic Versa for $9,990. The basic Yaris is a bit hard to find in Southern California though, as almost nobody buys cars without A/C here. Even so, I believe it's only $900 more for CD player, some power accessories and A/C. And because of the economy, there's wiggle room even there. My in-laws were shopping for a small car, and I had the local dealer talked down to $13,100 out the door, including tax and all fees, for a Yaris 4-door with auto, air and other options (about $15,200 sticker.)
