I've gotten over 38mpg in my truck, which also has only two seats...and a gigantic parcel shelf out back.
Sorry, but when smart's best effort weighs half as much, has half the power, carries less than half as much, demands premium fuel and benefits from 20 years of technological advancements but still can't do more than 20% better than my carbureted old dinosaur, I just can't be impressed. I'm disappointed. They had all kinds of opportunity to run a monster touchdown, and they punted.
