Wow... They were 100 here, and I thought that was bad. Looks like I can get the timing cover from the local parts store. They say it's only $8.00, so I'm not sure it's the correct thing.

8 bucks It's worth a try. The best price I found on a front cover so far is 75.00 and 3 to choose from...I'll keep on lookin

I don't think that $8.00 price is correct or even for what you need. I cut my timing cover in half and kinda wish I didn't.

It got quiet all of a sudden. 127k+ miles. 45k on this JDM motor. I've been using "real gas" and my economy is up quite abit - 58 to 59+ is common now. I take a different route to work than I do from work. No real mods to the car yet except Scangauge and increased timing. I abandoned 85 octane a couple months ago. I saw the old style headlights a couple days ago on the newer Metro and thought of Mullet. Just stopping by to say hey. Hey. Which reminds me, I need another load of hay for the horses this weekend! I have a nice used timing cover for a 3 cylinder that melted down. $15 + shipping. Also a excellent waterpump transfer pipe with like new heater hoses. Glad to join the grp usually a lurker, but getting ready to scrap a bunch of parts and if there of some use let me know.
