That would take some intense driving in a year considering the hybrid battery is warrantied for 10 years or 150K miles.

Some yoyo with his head under the hood of a pickup said it was a dealer warranty, not the factory warranty. IDK.

Calculator says 750 miles a day using 200 typical work days a year. Reno to Seattle or back every other day, weekends off. Cant be done commercial, time out too often. Shame modern cars dont have mechanical odometer you can see when it's off.

Could be a lemon law return.

Only thing that matters is [it]s pronouns.

Ah - dealer warranties are how dealers sell old cars that are out of warranty.

Unsure about dealer warranty, but have seen aftermarket warranties guaranteed the whole car.

From what I have seen, every used car will have the "as is, no warranty" box checked because the selling dealership is not the one offering the warranty. If it still has factory warranty they might put "remainder of factory warranty may apply" but even then, they don't want to be the ones on the hook when the factory has canceled a warranty for some reason. I doubt it would happen on a Prius, but with diesel tuners, or performance car tunes they would sometimes drop powertrain coverage which is what is most important to most buyers. I think cars can get damaged in shipping, or bought back under lemon laws and lose warranty as well. Best you get the VIN and contact Toyota before buying and get the real scoop.

If it hadn't been for an aftermarket used car warranty, my friends with the Ford Escape would have had to have paid for their transmission replacement. They were quoted $9,000 as the cheapest option. They ended up paying a $1,000 deductible and got a new transmission.

Which is good for them if they didn't have the money to fix their car. The vast majority of people that buy extended warranties don't come close to getting back the money the spent.

Extended warranties have huge profit margins for the company providing the warranty and a fat commission for the dealer selling the warranty. Long term it is cheaper to just say no to extended warranties.

(Also a rebuilt 2015 Escape transmission with warranty is about $2,500 so whoever was offering $9,000 as the cheapest option was taking advantage of your friends)
