Well here we are nearly 10 years later and every auto maker still wants lithium.

I would like to see more diversity in battery technology. It has happened to a degree with some using a LiFePO4 battery that's a bit different than the typical lithium battery. On the other hand there are very few EV's compared to gasoline and diesel vehicles. If it were the other way around, very few ICEV's, we might be complaining of how the few out there only offer 6 cylinder iron blocks.

LiFePO4 sucks in the cold. Seems like a good match for plug in hybrids.

The only Lithium battery that doesn't is Lithium Titanate. Lithum-ion does not like to be cold either.

If they wanted easy publicity They should do a coast to coast EV cannonball run. The aerodynamics and charging range would mean it could easily to do it with just the 40kwh version. The current record i think is about 42 hours from a Model S.

Be a good chance to show of that 10 miles per kwh energy consumption under real world conditions.

According to your estimates, Oil Pan, the car will probably start burning oil simply driving off the lot.

Maybe if they built a hybrid version and designed the engine in house.
Since they have sought professional help designing systems they clearly had zero understanding of. I have switched from pure pessimism to optimistic pessimism.
That's going from "they won't build it" to "they'll build them but there will be something, or a lot of things wrong with them".

There is a trolley approaching, and you have your hands on a switch.

Tied to one track is Aptera. Tied to the other is Edison2.

What do?
