Another question came to mind while comparing the available specs on these three tires: The Goodyear states a max psi of 51, while the Michelins and Bridgestones list a max psi of 44. I like to run 40-41 psi in my current Goodyears and I'm wondering if having a lower max psi might make it a bit dodgy to run that high? Is the lower psi limit a negative? Or does it really not make a difference what the limit is, as long as I'm under it. Just wondering if that is something I should factor into my decision.

no idea. could just be stiffer tread and rubber so the psi doesnt need to be as high. i run all my tires at 40 psi, but theyve gone up to 46 psi in warmer weather on the highway and no issues

I wouldn't worry about the difference between 44 and 51 PSI. Either will do fine at 40 psi. (I run 40 - 45 PSI (cold) in my FWD vehicles with 5 PSI more in the rear)

Prices went up a lot last year. For reference I paid $671.80 for the Michelin Pilot Sports with the same $150 discount. (Which is the most I've ever paid for a set of 4 tires)

The Pilot Sports are pretty nice tires. They're also... well, low rolling resistance for their class.

Yes, 15 inch tires are cheaper. The Bolt is rolling on 15 inch snow tires today for that very reason

Yes, they are very nice tires. I wasn't expecting the 20% drop in range though!

From these cars they'll probably be 20" or larger, with an extremely low profile (30?).
