I'm going to draw a bright red line from here:
To here:
I just measured my flat-screen Beetle. The windshield is 42" across at the base. The top have a curved edge most cars don't offer.
If you want to go head over heels down the geodesic rabbit-hole, you could do worse than Domerama.
Here's a pattern that shows how to turn a sheet into a compound curve with three relatively small incisions.

I agree with finding a current windshield that closely matches how you want the end result, and work around that. It'd be the least expensive way, and DOT approved. I think a windshield starts around 60 bucks at the junkyard here. Then you can cut it to the size you need. (This can be a real pain in the rear if you do it yourself. You have to have lots and lots and lots of patience.)

Too much work. Look at the Kickout SS again. The lower edge is sunk into the cowl to hide the windshield wipers. It all comes down to how short a wiper you can make.

It is a lot of work, I had to cut 7 inches off both side the windshield I am using to get the width i wanted. Sinking the glass into the cowl though lets you play with the height a lot easier though without the cutting.

Seatofpants -- What's the finished width?
Xist -- Thanks for asking. I get to point to the Volkhart-Saggita.
Notice the compound[?] curve to the door windows.
Also the Subaru SVX

I have a Blackjack Zero (BJZ) that came with a small polycarbonate snap on windshield. It sounds cheesy, but actually worked and looked very good. I wanted a roof for the car so I needed a permanent front windshield to mount it to. The BJZ is very small. I spent 2 years to decide to best course of action since I only needed one. Issues like price, availability, fit, weight, etc. were very important to me. I decided to cut an existing manufactured windshield down to my needed size. I was able to do it in my garage for a total cost of $1,323 and weight of 17 pounds. This includes the tooling I needed to buy. My case is somewhat different than yours, but many of the same issues are there. I am not able to submit links due to I have less than 5 posts in this forum. You will need to do it the old fashioned way and go to Facebook and search Blackjack Zero. My site will pop up. You will find a windshield photo album with about 100 pictures in it. You will also find the procedure for this project in the "Notes" section. There is a lot more stuff on the site if you want to learn about other things.

Kids these days...
So, about the Blackjack Zero. How long have you had it? Buy or build? Have you had much contact with the manufacturer?

Why don't you do everyone a favor and make two posts in here: http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthrea...ase-29018.html
I dare you to be off-topic!
