Heh heh… it's brutally cold here and I don't believe in idling to warm up my engine. I get out on my allegedly residential street and go about a mile in the lower gears at about 15 mph. I pull to the right to let the convoys of ***holes by and even do so once on the two lane out of town but there is a point at which I stop letting them by. So a few of them stack up back there as we go through a no passing zone then it's like a motocross race start with everyone trying to get the hole shot. I'll get honked at then so I give a friendly wave, hopefully they saw it. Another two miles or so and the temp gauge moves into the normal range so then I bring it up to 50 mph. Still not fast enough, but nobody honks when they go by LOL.

It is the coast to a red light that freaks out most of the people behind me.
It is almost always on a double lane road, so nobody needs to stay behind, and sure enough many swerve around with an air of disdain.
Then right when they speed by they notice the lights and slam the brakes.
I get passed by braking cars a lot.

Because i accel hard and go fast through curves, not much cars are directly behind me... I drive not "slow", i drive without braking and not over 100km/h. So i reach 3-4l/100km with a Stock Car with 7kg/PS.
But some guys honk like mad, because i drive 70km/h in a zone there is max 70km/h.... Some guys get aggressive, when they dont could drive faster then allowed.

There's a 30 km/h zone over here that looks like a race track. I do up to 10 km/h over the speed limit there, but that sure does annoy some behind me.
Apparently 10 km/h too fast isn't fast enough for them.
If only I could ask them how much too fast it needs to be to be fast enough...
I have a fast car.
It can do 70 km/h where the speed limit is 50 km/h.
I'm pretty sure it can do even 90 km/h where the speed limit is 50 km/h.
I just don't have to prove it, unlike so many others.

It's very reassuring to read these anecdotes - I'm sure we've all experienced these things on our daily ecodrives. I go from being annoyed to being amused by other drivers habits. I just try my best to ecodrive while staying out of these other drivers way as much as possible.

And it seems to be a worldwide problem Even if you just drive according the rules, you always have to watch out for crazy people who would rather push you off the road. More and more.
There is a lot of frustration among people. Tolerance is hard to find nowadays.

Exactly, there is no greater feeling!! It's like most driver's lose part of their brain function when behind the wheel. They race towards a fresh red light & then abuse those trusty brake pads.
How sad. . . . .

Yeah I agree with that. You can see that in France with discussions about reducing speed limit on the highway from 130 to 110kmh...

I thought German drivers are supposed to be better? :O In my mind, German drivers were supposed to all stick to the right lane, do exactly the speed limit, always signal, and be immune to road rage.
Following the speed limit really gets people mad because speed limits are to most people the speed you're supposed to drive minus 5 or 10 or 15 depending on your mood.
