Gliders seal gaps to make control surfaces more effective and to create more lift. The rear panel vents are directly behind the gas tank. One of the problems of letting air fill a pocket is after if fills for a while, it unfills. The result is buffet. The vents may be to keep the back panel from rumbling due to the turbulent air behind the gas tank.

Thanks! That was the first time I heard the "Too Often Yankees Overprice This Auto" thing. Very true.

That Kia is actually a nice looking car, but I am not gonna hold my breath waiting for it to be imported to the US. There have been many cars & motorcycles over the years that were not imported to the US, and many of them were very cool, but our country requires vehicle manufacturers to jump through some very expensive hoops to sell them here, and this means that it is not profitable to sell the inexpensive vehicles here. I was a big fan of the Honda City Turbo back 15 to 20 years ago, but that car never made it to the US. There were also a whole slew of motorcycles like the Suzuki RG400 Gamma that were not allowed because they were two stroke, I still want one of those.
