Hmmm... if *that's* your main concern, perhaps you'd be better off investing in a car seat heater and/or 12V electric blanket. Or you could really splurge and get a new driver's seat with heat/AC. I almost got one for myself for the AC... until I found a great bead seat cover that massages and has good airflow. My posture (and temperature) are much improved.

i have a car seat heater. wish i could do a heated steering wheel too but after market ones dont work apparently

wouldnt the insulation help? warm engine means hot air?

that's what i'm thinking about at this point. $100 and time for the steering wheel heater and cover, wired into the clock spring. Seat heater from the junkyard can be had for free but requires lots of time for install lol.

From an energy stand point it's a lot more effective to heat your body directly. A heated seat uses about 50W. But of course the heat generated by your burning gasoline is basically wasted heat anyway.

20 minutes of city driving and I can’t even get the temp to budge. I can get it to go up one or two bars if I rev it in sport mode. Def need some insulation or other hacks…

Those dummy gauges are horrendously inaccurate. If it doesn't read in single degrees just ignore it.

I have both the dash gauge and a Scangauge in degrees on the Avalon. The dash gauge moves to the middle at around 130 or 140°F and stays there up past 200°. I don't know how much as I haven't ever gone much above 200°F.

So from the far left it starts moving at 100°F and 30° or 40° later it's in the middle and then stays in the middle for at least the next 60° or 70°.

Well having it at the middle is the peak fuel economy area right? Because I’m getting horrible city mpg… not to mention I lose heat pretty fast when my car switches to ev mode
