The front suspension of the Fiero is almost identical to the Chevette. 1976 vintage parts on a 1984. But the bigger Fiero front brakes fit a Chevette.

Pontiac promised champagne but was only allowed to offer knockoff sparkling wine. Then with sales falling the OK was given to produce the original design for 1988 with its suspension that didn't come from the economy car parts bins. But they failed to do a massive promotional campaign to get the old version pushed out of people's minds.

I always said when the tank is empty, that Chevy became a "Shove-it".

Well, this would have been the weekend every year in Ohio when I would have packed the Firebrid project away for the winter. No need this year. It's already packed away.
Gotta get that new house started in the spring!

Photo album over at Priuschat in case anyone is interested. Mostly photos that appeared in this thread on earlier pages.

BTW, the house in Ohio is in contract.

Much appreciated. I've though to myself multiple times while carefully reading over this thread that it sure would be nice to see the photos.

BTW I bought a '73 Beetle and a '90 Miata and right now I'm currently cutting the body off the Miata (on Instagram under the #meetle hashtag). But first I need to stretch the Miata's wheelbase 6". The miata was choosen because it's basically the smallest car I could find which will make this possible.

So, two very different vehicles but your photos will still help, any info at all helps a lot. Especially on what to do about the doorseams. I'll likely cut the Miata's door seams off completely (which is the main structure of the vehicle, and it's a convertible so it's even more true) and replace it with 2x4 steel tubing. Still figuring that part out.

Like the meetle idea, I have wanted to mash up a Ghia and a Miata for awhile.
