Yeah, that's about how I expect the reaction to the Firebrid to be. I won't have that guy's attitude though.

In my case, I'm hoping to take it to SEMA once it's done and park it next to that monster Prius...

Latest Firebrid update: I bought a 3D Printer and have been making the adapter ducting between the Prius A/C system and the Firebird dash. I'm having a blast!

Any Updates

I have seen Bill and the Firebrid in awhile, I was just checking in to see if everyone is doing ok and if there were any updates to this project.

I'm fine. The project stalled over the summer due to other activities. I'm hoping to get back to it soon. Life just comes at you fast sometimes.

Hi Bill,

I finally tracked you down! I joined ClubLexus recently and of course your project met a road block in that Lexus Hybrids were just too new to find in salvage. I knew you were relooking at the Prius, but you left no forwarding address!!! Alas, you can run but you can't hide! Actually it was pure luck I found you here. I was drawn in by the 1946 Chevyota and then started perusing the project library on this forum. I joined immediately!

Nowadays, there are plenty of wrecked but running Lexus hybrids out there. I got a GS450H at an insurance auction in southern California. Relatively cheap. It will be going in a 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe. Not exactly a muscle car. I am leaning toward a drive train swap, although the 46 Chev did a partial uni-body to frame adaption which intrigues me. We'll see. Just getting started, although I have done a 1961 Volvo EV conversion from scrap, so know most of the components involved.

So I am looking forward to going through your process. Is there any way to see the Photobucket pix?

John
