FS: 1993 Civic CX Stock and Clean Title 179k miles, Rock Solid! NC

Hello ecomodders,

Up for sale is my 1993 Civic CX with 179k miles on it. Purchased and replaced the engine with another stock D15B8 with 140k on and have been driving it since. No problems or issues, it works like it should. AC and heat work great, converted to R134. Audio deck CD player works with aux port. Next to new matching Kumho tires. Never has over heated, no cooling system issues. No check engine lights or mechanical issues, starts, runs, and drives very solid. I have taken it on several road trips and would again without hesitation.

Car was optioned without passenger side mirror, somewhat rare to see. Other than the repair parts I have put in a set of OEM Honda floor mats, front and rear.

I am sure you guys know all the details of the CX and VX Civics of this vintage, gets 40mpg with ease and costs less than $25 to fill up.
  • Repairs done less thank 9k miles ago:
  • Replacement D15B8 engine (140k)
  • New water pump
  • Gates Timing belt kit
  • New oil pan and valve cover gaskets
  • New CV axles
  • New Ball joints
  • Oil changes regularly

The car is not the pretties and has it share of sun damage and dings. But it is the original paint, not bondo of filled over. No signs of rust near rear wheel well where it meets the bumper where there often is on these cars.

Price is $3185. I think this is fair given the great mechanical and stock condition of the vehicle. Also I am only the third owner, so it has not been passed around.
I will try to check this forum often for messages and PMs. Please feel free to email me through the forum as I check that email regularly.

Thank you!

GLWS, but the price sounds a bit too steep, especially for a vehicle that is pushing 20 years.

Then again, if the market can bear such a price, good for you !

You said it, I see the Four doors on CL all the time for $3000+. Its harder to find hatchbacks in this condition not modified as they get older.

Happy to give test drives, it drives awesome! Also I have to start some where

I bet a good detailer could get that paint looking like new again. Even just a good wax might bring the shine up. Just my .02. It could make a difference with a sale.

Look in some of the pics you can see a reflection on the roof of windows from the building. Very good indication that the paint clear will shine without much work. take an old sock or soft cloth and put a little wax on it and just rub one small spot in a circular motion. Oxidation will come right off

I have a Porter Cable XP7424 with megs 105 and 205 but if you saw it in person you would see the texture to it. I could try it but I really doubt it. The front bumper is off of a different car.

My red vx was chalky and faded bad. Polishing compound and a wax job 10000000 times better. Seriously. Like 2 hours work and you wouldn't think it's the same car. And yes a rust free unmolested cx should pull good money. Take your time and stand firm and you could get close to that price. Heck just a rolling shell no motor interior or trans with no rust is 1500$plus. Where I'm at. And 40-45 mpg is always a plus. Buff it out it will shine.

Thanks, it didnt quite get there but that is alright, I think I am going to keep it!

And to those who told me to polish it, I guess I should have tried sooner. I tried some Megs M105 manually on the door and it worked! I have never really dealt with paint this bad and thought there was no bringing it back!

Thanks guys, now off to do the rest of the car. I suppose I will post the results!
