Thanks for all the replies, have a night to work on the car tomorrow night so will reply in full then and am looking forward to it! Also have another project to add to the list: ford wagon for our longer outback trips, totally different criteria to Lucy.

Thanks for the tip and the research on tyres!

Re. side mirror mod Cowmeat, I've been trawling pick a part for a small set of side mirrors then attach an ideal body to the forward part of the body (increasing size but decreasing drag?), what are your thoughts? Also, will be bringing them further to the rear of the car door to get away from A pillar. Can't see them when I attached them on the front guard haha tried it at the wreckers - no good.

Wifey has said scangauge not till xmas but in terms of info profile hoping to get to the tip this friday for a weigh in, it would be a considerable amount of weight I've hoiked. One worry I have is that my rear wheels are a no net gain as i went alloy but they've got a mumma chunka tyre on them so am hoping to pick up a different pair for the front.

I noticed you're in Oz, started reading some of the slang and your entire post became very entertaining as I heard it inside my American head.

Please don't be offended but for now I'm loaning you Anthony Hopkins' voice as he sounded for "World's Fastest Indian." I know his character was New Zealander but it's what's most recent in my memory.

The way I understand it, even for his last runs he was still pushing his original streamliner based on that geriatric 1920 bike. And that he actually did make his own go-faster parts in that shed of his. That, my friends, is impressive.

Turns out Hopkins' portrayal of a Kiwi "bloody good bloke" was spot on personality-wise, but never touched the actual accent.

Crikey!
