Here you go @Jsanz. I meant to start a thread on the car, but remodeling a house while living in it has slowed some things down. The belly pans were for a 2012 HF sedan (not an HX like I said above) but fit my LX coupe perfectly. Also remember, you will need to order all of the bolts/screws with the new panels. If you lived closer to Ohio I would pull them off for you before I sold the car, but they are big and shipping costs would probably get crazy. It's hard to say if/what the gains were, I added them as we were rolling into winter in 2019, but i did start seeing 43.xmpg tanks after I installed them and had just seen 41.x-42.x tanks before that while driving 80% highway miles.

Edit:
The images all uploaded upside-down. I edited them to be upside-down on my computer...but that didn't seem to help, sorry

Hey guys (gals, etc)!!

I haven't had an Eta BMW (my username) in 7 years, but read often.

I couldn't tamper with my lease vehicle and my wife wouldn't let me do anything to her van, I've been learning but not doing.

Things changed. When I got furloughed from my job last year, I had to give the lease up. I was brought back part-time, so we got a newer minivan for my wife and I inherited hers.

It's freaking cold and I'm garage-less, so projects will be few until April or May. One easy one will be a grill block. My commute is 1 mile to freeway, 14 miles on freeway then park. The engine doesn't get warm enough in the short drive to produce much heat. (Prob a failing water pump too, but let's not think about that. Typically involves lowering the engine a smidge to loosen serpentine belt. See beginning of this paragraph.)

Anyway, we'll see what the next few months bring us.

Excelsior!

Cheers everybody, been really struggling with mental health if I'm honest, so I haven't gotten to a lot of Ecomodding lately.

Hoping to turn that all around very soon.

Instead, I've been doing some houseplant gardening

Drawing

Photography

And some aquascaping

Going to get to work on the LEAF soon. Air splitters and boattails for all wheels, gap fillers in the front, and hopefully some semi-stiff rubber material to close up the gap on the rear wheels.

Hope everyone's doing well.

I have removed my insights hybrid battery pack completely, and am in the process of replacing the rear hatch glass with 1/16" aluminum. Should be a nice weight reduction.

I had no idea ecomodder was that young. Just looked back through my MPG history and realized I've been tracking on this site since 2010 (how has it already been over 10 years??). I don't post much but have lurked a ton. Thanks for all the useful knowledge and data everyone has posted over the years.

In addition to the grill block, add a engine blanket.

As in Frank Lee style - a large piece of cardboard covering the engine and roughly sealing the engine bay.

It really works and is usually free... 😉

Hi all,
Regularly read the forum but has been a long time since I've had chance to do any ecomodding.
Hoping to get a project started this year.

And the winners are...

2509 posts were made in the contest period (post ID's from 639020 to 641529).

(If you want to know what your personal odds were: divide that by the number of posts you made. Your odds were one in whatever number you come up with.)

We used the True Random Number Generator at RANDOM.ORG - True Random Number Service to choose the winning post ID's from that range.

(Freebeard - you're gonna have to buy an OBD-II vehicle one of these days!)

Congratulations!! Thanks to everyone for taking part, and especially Linear Logic for the ScanGauges.

Winners: please send me a PM with your snail mail details to claim your prizes.

WINNERS NOTE! Winners must claim their prize within 10 days of today (by contacting me/Daox via private message), or we reserve the right to draw another name in your place. We're not kidding - we've done it before.
