As a big fan of The Goldenrod record and remember the car and record well, on a human level, being broken by the father who named this new record holding car for his deceased 21 year son, who died of cancer, I'm happy for all involved for their success.

2010. Lasted one year. Speed Demon has held the record 3 times in a row since then.

Speed Demon Race Car - George Poteet and Ron Main Land Speed Racing

I like Speed Demon for the tandem front wheel layout.

As a driver, I don't think that is my cup of tea.
I was surprised how much flutter is in the body panels, if I am interpreting the video correctly, vs camera shake.

I believe the structure of the chassis is similar to a top fuel dragster; the movement could very well be from flex of the chassis itself.

I thought I saw some frame flex, which is understandable, but I would find it hard to believe that the intended allowable dragster frame flex is also useful on the flats.
Regardless, my comment was directed mainly to the visible panel flex, and in an environment were aero is king, seeing a panel move a 1/2"(?) is surprising, when on a aircraft at similar speeds a bug splatter disruption can be a concern, it seemed odd to me for this to occur.

Similar to a canvas tarp on a truck at highway speeds.

Likely due to lightweighting. How to stiffen without adding weight? Possibly a layer of aerogel in a composite.

I agree, to stiffen would not be difficult if additional thickness was an option. On the flats, I have always been lead to believe, weight is a friend, in that it mainly increases traction, which is rather limited on salt, with high hp low drag packages, so unless rules have a weight component, weight is not a downside in this application.
