for every watt saved..how much is that in fuel? I know the headlights are the most dramatic, but to add up 21 external lights alone..yikes man, I don't think my 18 foot long delta 88 had that many lights...
there is little lights next to big lights on the old sube... trying to be pretty I guess.
This certainly isnt an accurate of a method, but it was enough for me to justify swapping my car to LEDs.

Givens:
1 Horsepower= 745 watts.
a "normal" produces approx 10HP to cruise at 60mph

Calculate how many watts you save by switching to LEDs and figure out what fraction that is of a HP. If you know how many HP it takes to cruise at 60mph you could make a rough guess at mileage gain.

I didn't see anyone say anything about this but I thought that I would share. I would recommend that anyone changing to LEDs go ahead and change out the flashers as well. The reason for this is that fast paced flashing experienced with LEDs or hyperflashing has been known to reduce the life of the LED bulb. I guess not a big deal if you enjoy spending a fortune on LED lights every couple years. However, for those money concious folk I would highly recommend getting a set of static flashers.

I tried to read this whole thread and learned a lot, I recently ordered some leds of ebay and repaced running lights and liscence plate lights. but when I replaced the 1157 lights (dual contact) for front turn signal/running light and rear brake/running light I lost the running lights, so now only get tun signal and brake light
Here are a couple pics of the bulb if that helps, it should be dual contact, but maybe it's just cheap china parts. Anyone else had this problem or offer a solution? (Of course about to message the seller)
