Uniroyal Tiger Paw AS65 175/70r13

This is the best rolling resistance for this tire size (I know because i've been searching for the same size) Now its just a matter of saving 250 in order to buy them and test them a little .

O and the place i found the chart for this tire was on this site, just search for
"LRR (low rolling resistance) tires - Green Seal report & list" Its somewhere in that thread.

I would put a link but i gotta hit 5 posts before I can.

Thumbs up LRR's

Hello, I hope I'm not to late to chime in one this thread. I was reading the post where the person asked where he could find LRR's in his tire size of P175/70/13 and it looks like most of the post say he won't be able to find them. Again, I just wanted to chime in, I have a 1994 Nissan Sentra, I'm the original owner and I too get 40mpg on the highway, this has been a excellent car. I just wanted to say, I'm looking at the new Michelin Tires I purchased this year at Sears, and they are 175/70/13 and they are low rolling resistance tires. I was turned on to these types of tires years ago by a Big O tire dealership in the town I live in, and I have to admit I was very skeptical, but WOW did they make a difference. The problem is, those tires to me seem to only come in the Michelin family, and they are quit expensive (around $70 ea.)I'm looking at my Michelin's I just bought this year from Sears, they are called Weatherwise, the Michelin's from Big O are Harmony, and the folks at Big O told me Sears gets a special tires made for them from Michelin, kind of a down graded tire (or so the folks at Big O told me), you can supposedly only get weatherwise from Sears.

I just want to add to this thread, that yes, you can get the Low Rolling Resistance tires in the P175 x 70 x 13 from Michelin, from almost any tire shop, and yes they are expensive but well worth it. My problem with those tires, because they last so long, I always wear out the tire not the tread, they actually dry rot. Any question, you folk can reply, I'll get the post.

Thanks

The Michelin Energy Saver is available in that size (82 T) - it has a different thread pattern than the 14" and bigger tyres though.

That's probably the one you're refering to ?

I just wanted to chime in as well. So far my wear on my tires is VERY slight, and given my medical situation, I often do not drive my car, it mainly sits. So I have less than 9.000 on my 2009 Cobalt XFE. However I have the brand of tire sold with the Chevy, and already I felt the need to rotate the tires in the X method, and before I make it to ten thousand I will likely rotate them one more time before winter sits in. I have many steep curvy roads in the mountains here which causes almost all types of tires to wear on the front. By frequent rotation I believe these tires will safely take me well past 35,000 miles at the current rate of wear, which is almost none at all. Gosh when I was young I burned up a brand new set of Good Year Eagle GTs at 10,000 miles- the tread was FLAT!! I replaced that with a much harder compound as 10,000 miles for 4 expensive tires were not in my budget.

Thumbs up

Well, for all the skeptips about the 13" tire, I again just purchased some at sears this year, they are expensive, a 70,000 mile tire. I get 75,000 per set of 4, rotating frequently. My problem, this year I was in a money crunch, so I didn't get all 4 in January. Here some pictures, so no, I don't know what your talking about witha 14" tire. I tried to get a good picture of the tread, I can take more if you need me to, also note to tire size I took a picture of also. Again, the weatherwise is the Sears version, and Harmony what everyone else gets, like Big O.

Thanks.

Tire Testing for Fun

How different tires react rolling down ski slope. [VIDEO]

This is a very interesting way to test tires, presented for amusement rather than data. Still, there are some technical surprises.
