Lower & Upper Grille Block Ideas (Toyota Echo)

Currently re-working the surface of the grille blocks. Stone chips and previous surface imperfections need to be fixed.

did you ever fix the wheel covers? I used steel then they rusted to badly in MI so I went with aluminum ones from amazon $7 each.

I didn't fix the steel wheel covers since I installed my summer wheels. I do plan on removing the surface rust and applying a protective coating. I only use the covers during Winter since the air is denser..

what size do you need?

I use mine all year around (set for each set of rims) and summer testing showed a 1.5 MPG gain at 55 MPH.

My winter rims use 14" hubcaps. I am assuming I would need a 15" pizza pan to completely cover the hubcap ?

Do you have a tape mesure?

My 16" rims needed 16" pizza pans and 16.5" would have been better.

Do you think think you could use this process to fab up some foam blocks that would form a smooth belly pan and be removable?

It would be difficult to execute since you would need to inject/pour the 2-part foam in hard to reach spots. I can't even imagine the amount of time required to prepare the area as 2-part foam can be quite messy.

It can be done but it will require lots of time, especially since you cannot flip your car over to make the process a bit easier !
