All you people in other countries stay up really late! hahahaha.

Wait, strike that, reverse it. Yes, it's 1:30am, and my 2 year old son is still going strong.

Ludiagsm,

Here is the link to the Revolt WiKi

Open ReVolt - EcoModder

If you read through all 3XX pages of this thread, you will find a video of
JackBauer testing his IGBT module power section. I think that his first tests
were using a starter motor just like you did. Check out all of the video's that
are linked in the thread and you will sometimes have to pick yourself up from the floor from laughing. You will get to see that these fellows have a sense of humor and they also show a lot of good ideas.

Cheers
Mark

What is the voltage of your system?
120v - 10 12v Lead acid battery for now

What is the AH rating for your batteries?
100ah

Which motor are you using for your vehicle?
Is it a series wound DC motor with A1, A2, S1 and S2 leads?
Or, is it a permanent magnet motor with only 2 leads?
serial wound DC, two terminals

What is the voltage and current rating for the motor?
72v, 85a (I think), 2200 rpm

The Mosfets can be driven with a 0 to 12V signal quite nicely.
12 volts will turn the Mosfets on, and 0V will turn them off.
I know that, I ask which voltage is the best to trigger gates for my case (40 pcs IRFP260N), is it the best to be 12v or 20v or some other?

You have seen the drive used in the Curtis controller.
Take a look at a Leeson controller too.
They are using 40106 schmitt triggered drive (U1) that will
give a solid square wave drive to the gates of the IRFZ44 Mosfets.
This is some low end kontroler I think, I have PIC in my control board.

Look at the Mosfets beside the motor, they have
tied the gate to the source and are thus using them
as Diodes for the freewheeling diode.
You could do that too.
Yes, I'll do that

I have sent this as a PM since it is not discussing the REVOLT controller.
OK

Cheers
Mark

Thank you
Peja

Each "ounce" of copper is 35um so 2oz. boards have a 70um thick layer of copper.

Hi Paul
I have not found any shorts. I followed every line on the schematic to check for continuity. Every line. I am getting power to the chip. You know I might not have a programed chip. I thought I had the old one. Maybe not. I could try the chips I have in the truck to see. Or take the one in the truck and try it in this board.
Thanks
Alvin

I bet it's the chip then. Let me know if you need another chip. I'll send you one.
