I understand about discovery. Was it germane to the case? With context?

IMHO, Dominion is not a good example for anything. Hardware with it's pants around it's ankles?

Yes, it was germane to the case.

Fox News Hosts including Tucker Carlson accused Dominion of changing votes from Trump to Biden. That was a lie - there is zero evidence that happened.

It is also important to the case that the people saying that Dominion changed votes did not themselves believe that was the cause. In private they said what they were saying in public was a lie and people that believed that lie were stupid. That is pretty much the definition of libel.

However - if you want to continue to listen to a person that admits to lying to you and thinks you are a gullible fool - have at it.

I have no investment in what Mr. Carlson or anyone else's opinion or statements. I do have concerns about the OpSec around the Dominion Voting System.

Would you accept a story from CBS/MSN?

Security of Georgia's Dominion voting machines put on trial
CBS News on MSN.com|3 days ago
A yearslong dispute over the security of Georgia's elections and its voting machines came to a head Tuesday morning in an Atlanta courtroom. Opening statements began in the federal trial examining whether the Dominion Voting Systems machines used in Georgia can be hacked or manipulated, making their use in elections unconstitutional.
In any case, --from first principles-- any electronic voting system should be Open Source and auditable.

I am not aware of any voting system that does not have an audit trail of some sort in this country. Unsure what open source ultimately gets you in these systems, may a bit more trust? Don't matter what the code is, if it didn't get loaded.

Paper ballots used to fall off the transport truck in Chicago, somebody "found" a bunch of uncounted after the last election in a car trunk. No election in my memory lacked some anomalie casting doubt.

Kinda like paper dollars, you trust that they are worth something

Scott Adams points out that the audit trail is only as strong as it's weakest link. And it's [apparently] true that software updates were installed only after the vote, and retention of the results was shorted.

One day, in person, citizens only.

Voting requirements that are perfectly designed to reduce participation among the poor and young.

It would be one thing if the USA scheduled voting on a Sunday or holiday like most countries in the world. Instead we vote on Tuesdays and schedule voting hours when most people are at work.

Vivek is saying voting day should be a national holiday. Make it a Sunday and a holiday. Preventing dead people from voting should be a simple problem to solve.

I've somehow been mostly persuaded that we should draw a distinction between a citizen and civilian, with citizen having served the country in one or more of a variety of capacities. Sharing in common cause is the only thing that defines the US as a country. Other countries can exist simply because they are a concentration of Japanese people, or French people, not needing a particular creed as the foundation of its existence. The US is among the few countries, and the only giant whose existence is not predicated on race or lineage of people.

Because they can't find the polls or get an ID?

Because they are at work and are the least likely to have jobs with the flexibility to allow them to vote during work hours.

If they consider the job more important than voting, they probably wouldn't make good choices if they did?
