Cool Love this....

I simply love this... what you've done to the car. I've always 'loved' the Speedster look, like Bonneville Salt Flats racecar, or like the 1948 Merc Hotrod from Cobra, with the white letter tires added.

If I find myself in the position to buy a Volt, damn straight i'm gonna add the same effects to the body like the digital pic above.

Modding a Volt as a Hotrod? Definately.... ^^

It's always fun to see mods for the Volt.

Too bad so many of the other images in this thread were broken by the Photobucket fiasco.

I wonder why I didn't post this one, a Prius with a 36hp VW engine and a Porsche 911 cooling fan mounted on the crankshaft. And a full set of wheel spats.

It's probably even good for almost 30mpg on the highway.

It's notional, but the 36hp Beetle is (barely) capable of 40mpg in favorable circumstances. This would have the same weight as a stock Beetle and 25/40ths the aerodynamic drag.

Plus the wheel spats. I think the biggest knock is the fan should be foreshortened. It looks cock-eyed.

Doesn't a stock beetle weight about 1600lbs?

And a stock gen 2 Prius around 3000lbs? I can't imagine the difference between the Prius engine/transmission/hybrid system and the Beetle engine is more than 500lbs.

1750-2000lb. I guess the Prius battery is ±100lb. I did calculation for a full EV conversion of a Beetle and I had a budget of 450lb for the batteries.

There is probably a bit of weight in airbags and such.

And I included the 2013 post date to show it's not really up-to-date.

Prius battery is 64lbs, not sure about the other accessories. Car is just shy of 3000.

I can delete the picture if you insist.
