Prius back side (buy this used one with rear damage?)
I'm seeing this rear-ended Prius Plug-in for sale. Any suggestions on how to mod that back side? Just dreaming....

If the rear latch is still aligned and works make a clean fiberglass plug. Replace rear lamp, name & logo plates, mask out & paint black the former glass panel and a new lower valance license plate blackout (with some reflectors) panel.

I'd jump on that in a heartbeat if the price was right. Just repair the thing with a new hatch.
The LED rear lights are different than the standard hatchback, and go for about $100 on Amazon. I know because my neighbor backed into me a couple months ago and took out a light with his lifted truck.
If everything were aligned properly, or could be nudged into place well enough, I probably wouldn't even replace the hatch. Just put a new piece of glass in it.
You can check the condition of the traction battery by plugging in an ELM237 bluetooth device ($10 on Amazon) and installing Torque Pro ($5) on an Android device. There are custom PIDs that will tell you voltage and resistance for each battery bank, and they should all be very close. That's what I did when I purchased my reconstructed PiP from a guy who didn't have the charger and didn't know if the car charged properly.

Remember that the closed and latched hatch is structural.
