Thank you! I can't believe the Anal Probe is "inspirational"

Anyway, finally got a free second after the Wheels of Italy car show yesterday, and decided to redo the belly pan and install an air dam. This time I stopped the belly pan at the control arms and made cutouts for the oil drain plug AND the oil filter. lol.

Also this dam is held on by zip ties as opposed to duct tape and there is a little choroplast bracket in the back center that keeps the thing from folding under in the wind.

Then I was going to visit my grandma when the Sheriff pulled me over for having the plate in the window. Greeeat.

Anyway, pics. Sorry for the harsh afternoon sun; I don't have the time to go out at sunset.

Later gator!

PS- over 390 miles on the tank, which means I've reached my goal of 40mpg!

Oh yes it is. Lets have some ABA stats and some coastdowns to verify the effort put in is working.

I'd like to, but it looks really complicated and time consuming.

What does ABA mean? All I know is it's a VW motor. Haha

Can't wait to see your fuel log get set up. Hopefully you kept track of your mileage before mods? It'd be cool to see the difference.

A-B-A

Kind of Before - After - Before to verify there is a measurable change. I think before may be a challenge here

See this.

Oh, well. I've looked through that thread and can tell you that's not gonna happen anytime soon lol. The stock Cd is supposedly 0.304, so that's what I'd use as a baseline. Again, I don't have the time to go and do tests. I'm leaving for school on Friday and after that won't have much time to do mods. If someone wants to help with drag testing this fall near Detroit, I'd be down for it though.

First fillup! I spoke too soon earlier. Only got 37.9519 mpg. (408.4 miles, 10.761 gallons)

I'm hoping with the headlights down the next hypermiling tank will top 40. I'll probably be using a two tanks keeping up with my dad at 70mph with a full car on the way to school, so I won't count those

Anyway I've got some new pics coming up including the new "F*** Da Police" license plate placement. Gotta edit/upload.

I thought not The "% above EPA" will show FE improvements although a lot of this will be down to technique - the nut behind the wheel gives the best returns and improvements here. You could still do coastdown to work out the new Cd figure but others may be able to advise on how accurate that is and how to do it well.

Otherwise looking good.
