the reverse lights are not for you as much as they are for others to know you are backing up (think shopping center parking lot).

If I remember right its a law to have them. All OEMs have them so its a good idea for you to have them. one less reason to be pulled over.

I can go throw one on, but I'm not going to put much effort into it. It'll also be harder now that the tail is buttoned up.

Did two things today. Couldn't get the stencils done due to time wasting and losing my "5" stencil.

- Added some red reflector strips on the sides, 3" from the rear.
- Made QR codes, printed them out and taped one on the windshield and one on the rear window. Anyone with a smart phone can scan them and be linked directly to the first page of this thread. It should help answer some inevitable questions passersby might have.

I recommend you guys do the same! Here's the free QR code generator.http://qrcode.kaywa.com/\

Did you explain what the QR code links to?

I'm imagining "scan here to see extraterrestrial technology"

I really like your boattail! It is nicely done and I think that it is a masterpiece!

I'll make a little note. But I do enjoy the chat roulette style mystery of it all!

Living on a dirt road, one does aero testing every day. Just like Basjoos said, the dirt/grime deposits where flow is detached. I find little lines of dirt on the trailing edges of panel overlaps, and a lot on the very rear panel.

The good news is the boat tail on the whole is very clean. The bad? About 6 inches from the end, on the bottom, I see wisps of dust accumulating. I think I'm losing attached flow at this point, just inches from the intended detachment area. Tuft testing will come soon- when I can find a willing victi- er, volunteer. That should diagnose the deposits. If it's bad I will have to lower that surface just a bit.

Can you show us a video of the Anal Probe driving down the dusty road so we can see the turbulence around the bottom and back of your car?

Wax on, wax off....wax on, wax off... I drove down a dusty road the other day, and it made more dust than I expected, the air under the car is blowing backward, kicking up the dust. Next time, I'll have to bring the camera. My wife said the car just floats down the highway at 80 mph. A boat tail is about the last aeromod left to do.

No tuft testing quite yet (don't have any string) but here are some pics from yesterday. Underside needs paint.

The stupid automatic shoulder belt buckles got little troll faces on them because they're annoying and try to choke you when you lean in to grab tools.

Stencils on the side are pretty self explanatory and legible. On the top it says "STAY BACK 50 PARSECS".

Note flow detachment aft of the hatch lid gap filler.
