New Bests

Achieved new best tank and short trip averages with the new chin spoiler.

Best tank went from 26.3 to 26.6.
Best short trip went from 28.4 to 29.5.

Sorry no A-B-A testing at this time.

Awesome! Now you need to average that over the entire tank of gas! That's where my challenge usually comes.

i dont recommend the gear swap to 2.73. ive recently gotten into an '02 vic and i feel like the 2.73 set leaves a lot to be desired unless youre doing 70mph, not alot of torque available in OD. if youre getting near 30mpg with 3.55 id say youve got the right gears already. in comparison my dads mustang gets 30mpg with a 300hp 3V 4.6, a manual trans, and 3.55:1 gears.

A lighter car and a manual transmission covers a multitude of MPG sins.

very true. thats why i have this in my back pocket : Manual transmission for the crown vic - Crownvic.net

i think it can be pulled it off for $1200 if you raid a junkyard for most of it.

I've heard quite a few people claim that mileage is better with the 3.27 gears over the 2.73s. Best I've been able to do with my 2.73s so far is 24mpg. No mods yet done to the car though.

i feel like these cars are a little too weighty for 2.73 gears, when im cruising down the highway my speed drops pretty sharply up hills, i feel like having just a little more torqure available at the rear wheels would help maintain speed better. and dropping as much weight as possible wont hurt either, not mention its free!
