Tanner Foust explained there was no way to retract the LFA wing spoiler (deploys automatically at 80 km/h (50 mph)) at high speeds increasing drag substantially, which had cost him 6–10 km/h (4–6 mph).

But there is function underpinning the somewhat sedate form. According to chief engineer Haruhiko Tanahashi, an advantage of using carbon fiber for the bodywork is that it’s possible to make very sharp edges and cutoffs that improve aerodynamic performance. The LFA has a reasonably low coefficient of drag (0.31), and Tanahashi says that the car produces more downforce than any of its competitors. Even the inside edges of the door mirrors are shaped to guide air into scoops over the rear fenders that feed the rear-mounted radiators. A large rear wing incorporating a Gurney flap pops up at speeds above 50 mph.

Very near the end are some vortex intersections at the rear wing (tip).

Diagram with an associated photo, I'll try and find an actual wind-tunnel image on the RV trailer topic to match.

Volvo wind tunnel. Testing aerodynamics.

Since the underside and wheels account for more than 50 percent of a car’s total air drag, a traditional wind tunnel where the vehicle stands still in a flow of air can provide an incomplete picture of the vehicle’s overall aerodynamic properties. “It’s a bit like measuring the aerodynamic properties of a car that is standing still in a parking lot during a powerful storm. Our new wind tunnel, on the other hand, has been designed to exactly replicate the flow of air around and underneath the car when driving on a real road at speeds of up to 250km/h. Our wind tunnel uses sophisticated techniques at the forefront of aerodynamics technology” reveals Tim Walker.

The SolarWorld GT looks great, and I will have to try to see it, when it comes to the US. It appears at first that the rear of the car does Not follow the "Template", too steep. This body shape also looks much like my VW old style Beetle X-Car, maybe I'm thinking something close to good!
