could be just a new chain and time the thing.. i mean get the chain replaced and correct.. .. needs knowledge skills and ability..,
but not a real big tool set i dont think..

what a perfect time to find an engine guy for your type ..

refresh that engine with a *specialty* cam

bore it out a little . flow the heads ..

all that jazz..

Mgb mpg I meant valves smack pistons when the timing chain broke it has been shown with the 22re that a cam, header, upgraded fuel system, 10.5:1 compression, 3angle valve job ect only puts out 130 hp or so. A stock 22rte only puts out 130hp. So for alot of money into it I can have 130 hp, or transplant a more modern dohc motor with 50% more power.

I'm sorry, I jumped to the last page and hear 20v 4age and thought we were talking about corollas. But either way the 3rz would be pretty sick in a little rwd Toyota. By brother has a Tacoma 4cyl an we hauled like nearly 1000 pounds of concrete no problem haha


Ah damn dude clk55 convertible? That's pretty freaking rad. Buut I'm going to have to say I like the f430's in the back a little more. Have you ever gotten to drive one of those??

Thanks man, Sadly i have not driven an F430 yet I have driven a Z06 like the ones in the back though and that's the only vette i really love. We do have a Ferrari in the family though 85 308 GTSi Quattrovalve but i don't dare post that on here to avoid being stoned to death due to the Ghastly gas mileage lol.

if those power plants will drop in should be able to find a crashed unit in any big city salvage yard .. of "unknown " quality

i think i want a long range machine with a steam engine .. boiler fed with wood pellets .. take about an hour to get it up to run then run for 12 hours .. fireman ,fireman shovel that coal [nope auger from a wood pellet bin]

i know just the airbody i would want ..

optimized for 100Kph..

The good news is the Celica does not have any valve or piston damage. She is getting a new timing kit, cam, and gaskets. Timing kit includes tensioner, water pump gasket, valve cover gasket, sprokets, chain, guides, chain cover gaskets, and various seals. Also picked up a master gasket kit so I will prob have some duplicates.
