an engine .. you are looking for an engine?

i see my machine dropped off the sports car list. i guess its been over 3 months since i fueled. . still showing more than half a tank on the gauge,

i don't get a lotta miles

it is kinda fun looking at the manifold pressure and comparing it to the readings i see on my DIY U tube.. , just now my sensor is located before the filter..

if i go WOT [zero manifold] i can pull 5-6 inches of water vacuum BEFORE the filter .. at a 65 MPH cruise with 15 in HG manifold i can see 2 inches of water Over pressure .. hummm..

hard to get a good grip and record any good data as the data logger is a stubby pencil

im moving the sensor to after the filter .. make another nice small u-tybe and tape it on the panel.. ..

yup, and trying to improve My Beast. My father in law seems to think the engine is ok, going to tow the car to his place(more tools than I have). Still looking for a motor.

"engine is ok,"

humm

these little [1800cc] truck /tractor engines my thing has are pretty durable
if its carrying pretty equal compression across all the cyls , the bearings on the crank are not rumbling and all that other bearings[rod] not slapping we think they are good to go.

im looking for a *B* block myself ,, i know a guy will sell me a rebuild kit , provide telephone advice , advice and coordination with the machine shop ..
the whole nine yards..

he is a race builder of note. very well admired engine builder

just how much do you think i would like to have a rebuilt mill with a specialty cam.. bored out 40 over

did i miss a remark where you posted the diagnosis of the reasons you put the little machine out of service?

....i figured the thing had blown .. down in the ditch and the rods a knockin ..

just what are the symptoms that indicate to you that a new. [another] engine is required

what we look for is a big bang ... loss of oil pressure .. big regular slapping and banging .. and then there is the the more subtle "death rumble' from the lower end

Yeah the 22r's are known for being durable too. I still don't know for sure If the motor is dead. It is an interface engine, but I was at low rpms when the chain broke. And she just shut off. Problem is I don't have the tools or space to work on the car at my house.

I'll put up pics of my new baby
2004 CLK55 AMG Cabrio
I average 16-20 in town daily driving her and 22-24 on the freeway.
Not amazing but not bad for a 400HP V8 either

444.7 miles, 13.76 gallons, 32.318 MPG. Same station, same pump, and same filling procedure as last fill. That's my all-time record high for the "White Pony".

My physical mods are cooler looking side mirrors, a shorty 8" radio antenna, Ford Racing cat-back dual exhaust (added 31.5#), Hypertech Max Energy Power Programmer, and Stack Racing "Billet style" upper grille insert. None of these have made any noticeable difference in fuel economy.

My other mod is "adjusting the nut behind the steering wheel"

My tires are at 35PSI; I don't Pulse&Glide, Engine Off Coast, or Drive With Load. Nor do I draft other vehicles.

I've been concentrating more on my "Driving Without Brakes" this past tank. And I had a short road trip that included about 90 miles of 55-65MPH driving.

I set this record despite burning a few extra ounces of 87 octane fuel to set up for the photo opportunity of a lifetime. I couldn't turn it down - after all, I am Mustang Dave...

I know it's just a V6 stang but have you ever tried running 91 octane and if so does it hurt/help mileage?

In short, it hurts mileage. I have tried running 91 octane with HyperTech's 91 octane performance tune in the ecu. Low-end torque was noticeably better by "seat-of-the-pants" dynamometer. Fuel economy was lower due to lower energy content in higher octane fuel. Without the HyperTech 91 octane performance tune, performance would have been the same as with 87 octane fuel with the same (or even more) reduction in fuel economy. See my fuel log for the Summer months of 2010 for more details. So far, my best "streak" has been 4 consecutive fill-ups over 31MPG during the Summer. I've done it 3 times, so far.
My next fill-up may change that best streak to 5 consecutive fill-ups over 31MPG, if I'm lucky...

Not counting epa, your TANK might be better than mine right now. I hope I can be in the 30+ zone.
