Hey Michael Moore! Thanks so much for the guidance on the flash kit, will check into it. It is definitely the direction we are working towards. Right now we are preparing dual, single and progressive carbs for testing, but have an Ecotrons kit on the shelf waiting for a turn. I have also heard that Ecotrons has it's problems (especially with timing), and am leery. I have read that the 300 EFI will retro to the 250 head...and will probably go there pretty soon. I hear that MS is super complex, but better quality than ET.

Dead on with the hubs, using CR250 hubs with a 20mm axle and deep groove bearings to control the hub and have oversize custom spokes and 3" Excel rims(spokes made by Buchanan's in Ca. especially for them). The Geek does little turning other than highway offramps and such, really designed specifically to run straight, and hopefully...real, real far :-)

You might look at the Graves Motorsport Flash Tune ECU kit that lets you change the map in the stock 300 Ninja ECU, I'm not sure if they've got one for the EFI-equipped 250s. I think this is what a friend who is building up a 300 Ninja road racer decided to use. About $425 or so and it may be easier to get working than starting with the Ecotrons/MegaSquirt stuff.

Have you considered that your wire wheels will see a lot more side load than they would on a motorcycle? Sidecar outfits have that issue too, the spokes have to be stiffer/stronger to resist the side loads. Perhaps you are using wider than usual hubs to get a broader base at the spoke flange?

Dose the bow wake from the semis push you sideways or caus a rotation around the center of pressure?
Had a Hyundai Excel that would squirt sideways, (not rotation) just behind the rear bumper of a truck I would get sucked over tord the trucks wake. The trailer/ cab gap only had effect on heavy wind days (30+) As my front bumper would entre the bow wake tbe front got pushed(CP artificially forward) , at my door the force was square (balanced CP) at my rear bumper it would push the back out rotating my trajectory into the trucks path (witbout correction.) (Artificialy biassed ththe rear
Point is;
If its rotating a rudder, fixed or dynamic, balince the CP.
If its squirting sideways , then downforce would be the fix,

Unscientific methodology for testing center of pressure in Dynamic wind.
Place on blocks of ice in cross wind and mesure the side force applied to each wheel center .

This was popular with bike raicers in the 90's but favor quickly went for profiled spokes over disk,less gain but still a gain in more wind conditions. The disk is better for always in ahead wind ,but roads never seem to cooperate. . If you find your CP off oneway or the other use the disk on the light end this may be what your looking for.
To get more out of the front a-arms without a rebuild/skin . Add a gurney flap.

Nice project, looks simple but is also well detailed, not an easy thing to pull off.

Seven years and +$200,000...................no wonder I never did this myself.

Years ago my wife had a Geo Metro, I thought I was going to get sucked under the side of a semi-truck tractor trailer when passing or getting passed. It was pretty scary the first few times, but a little mental preparation and a white knuckle death grip on the steering wheel helped.

Do truck wakes take a quantum leap between 50 and 70 MPH? I remember that having the Car-Cycle with a cover that closed the front wheel arch "spoilers" on a car top would rock the whole car on high speed freeways, but it never moved when being run on the shoulder with 55 MPH traffic passing and the fin in place. Nor do I have any problem in my Geo Metro, which seldom sees 60, but does run on a lot of ice.

The most stable "at speed" car I've ever been in or have driven is my 1977 Porsche 911 (rear engine).

The laws of physics are completely against this car, yet it is the best at everything.

This proves that if one puts +70 years into mastering a single engineering concept, anything can be done.

EDIT: My wife had two Geo Metro's, they both suffered from what I call "suck under". Perhaps with the majority of large trucks operating with side-skirts this would no longer be the issue it was back in the day.
