My boss was the wiring master, but i believe it was pigtails and soldering, i dont remember the exact details for that, but i can find that out if you are really interested. but we did have the mk4 guages to connect to the ecu and motor, so it was easier but i know it wasnt just plug and play.

That whole car is bent- must have been totalled once upon a time. I wonder how good their alignment can be when I can see the bendiness so obviously in the shots of the front?

I think its just sitting on a slope to the left or has settled after being driven one-up for a long time. Helga leans to the right and I am fat...

"Part 4 of Project Sipster marked the first time I ever actually saw the car, and what a sight it was. In the picture above, notice a few things about the front of the car. See how the ends of the front bumper are beveled, so the top of the bumper is slightly shorter than the bottom? That's how you know the bumper is on upside-down. Notice how the driver's side headlight looks lower than the passenger's side? That's no illusion. The car is seriously bent. Look at the radically different angles of the front lower control arms, just visible under the car's powder blue chin. Yikes!"

Why should someone use a bent car?

A.t.m. i owning a Golf 1 from '83 whit a 1.9 Turbo Diesel engine from a '95 VW Caravelle. Doing 44 MPG whit out any modifications. I'm wondering how low i can get my FE for this car.

Yesterday i did some air intake modifications and removed the right mirror.

But i will never use such an ugly front bumper.... I will try to do as less design modification, the car is beautiful as Ital Design designed the car in 1973/74.

The Honda variable stroke concept is the way forward surely...... but too complex, have a look at MECXIC.com for the practical answer !

This thread is a little long for me to read the whole thing. Anyone have the highlights? Did they achieve their goal of 70MPG?

Short answer, yes. Longer answer, on a 70 mile, less than one gallon fill.
