^ A few guys run the TH400 behind them, especially if its just fun street use. The 4L80 is a good option too, and has overdrive.

A few guys I know have d-max powered trucks. The other day was out in a 2007 crew cab 4x4, 38" tall tires with a 4/6" lift, and even that huge truck will ignite the tires at will. With a 5" turbo back exhaust it sounds great too.

Bad idea. You go this route, your engine will not last long. You want to run this stuff, get a separate tank, good heat exchanger and start/shut down on real diesel fuel. Cold vegetable oil is a recipe for failure.

Measure for clearance first. The 6.2 & 6.5 GM Diesel are taller and wider. You'll have to relocate the motor mounts up. The oil pan might need some modification too. Had to notch my oil pan in the back to clear the crossmember in my '91 Caprice Wagon 6.2 conversion. With my mounts, I'll bolt them to the engine and set it in loose. Have the motor mounts welded on to the crossmember after the trans is bolted in. It can be done, and if you can find a cheap 6.2 and an overdrive 700R4 or 200R4 it'd be sweet.

I run a TH700R4 in my 6.5L powered suburban.
Don't have any problems, I also don't do anything stupid with it.

I also run vegetable oil. I cut it in with my diesel fuel at a rate of up to 25% in the summer.
No tanks, fuel warming system, switching valves, or any garbage like that. Just a serries of 3 fuel filters and 2 switchable lift pumps each with their own primary fuel filter.

Your stanadyne pump is hating life, as is every other part of the 6.5. WVO doesn't behave like D2 so I can only imagine what the injectors and pistons look like.

Also, weight should be a consideration. 6bt Cummins is roughly 1000lbs and the Duramax is near 880.

4JG2-T 3.1L or a 4JB1-T 2.8L JDM engine would do nice.

easy install being a RWD 4X2
use the GM diff and gear it as needed.
though it mite take a small body lift for the hood to close LOL

the 4BT cummens is about 750LBs plus trans also commenly red lined at 2,800rpms.

these two isuzu engines are red lined at 4,200 rpms...
all the 2.8s are computer free, early 3.1s with manual trans are computer free also.

about the same power as a stock N\A 6.2L 130hp
the 3.1L is about 130hp the 2.8L is about 105hp
and 550LBs for the engine 125lbs for the trans...


no rocket ship, but it would be cool
