My XFi doesn't have a tach, but it does have an Eco-light that calls out the shift points.
I've taken to using it as an indicator in my peripheral vision to gauge my speed against the posted limit, without looking down.

I remember when shift-lights used to be popular among ricers, usually along those "monster" tachs. Just to remind, manual transmissions are still prevalent in my country, so it might not seem so pointless to have a shift-light, but I do remember seeing it on some riced cars fitted with automatic transmissions

I just purchased a first gen tacoma cuz there isn't a good option for a hybrid or electric truck atm. Wish someone would do an insight-light truck. Manual transmission hybrid truck would be my ideal (aside from fully electric, but range limitations are more damning for a work vehicle like a truck than a commuter like a sedan/hatchback imo)

Anything you can think of someone has already done. ....wrongly.
Even though this is on an Insight forum, the donor vehicle is apparently a Prius.

Would a first gen Insight pickup have enough cargo capaciry for you?
..oh, and welcome to Ecomodder.

You could, of course, tow a trailer with a G1 Insight.

Even though an off-the-shelf rig meeting your expectations is unavailable ATM, I guess you have already seen this:
