I give a rip (a small rip) about efficiency with regards to a vehicle like this. I'm still thinking the middle priced CyberTruck is most appealing to me all things considered, with price being among the most important. Still not going to drop $50k on a truck, but maybe I can pick up a used one in 7 years for half the price.

Oh I agree with any of the $50,000 versions, but mark my words, a completely loaded up Cybertruck is going the be the same price as this completely loaded up Hummer 1st edition, and people spending over $100,000 on what will be probably be one of 3 to 5 of their vehicles aren't even going to ever measure their efficiency.

I too am not going to spend $50,000 on anything less than a house or 20 acres of land. I wouldn't pay that much for a kidney if it would save my life LOL.

Someone else doubted the CyberTruck would be cheaper, but I'm going off what has been presented so far. The Hummer base price is $80k. The CyberTruck base price is $40k. The fully loaded CyberTruck doesn't quite hit $80k, the base price of the Hummer. The fully loaded Hummer is supposed to be up around $110k.

I believe the CyberTruck is going to be the "value" truck. I also expect pricing to be close to what Elon said it will be. He did briefly produce the $35k Model 3 as promised, and you can still phone order it for $36k.

Musk promises seem to be accurate but for timeframe.

I dont think we know what all the options will be on the Cybertruck and what will be standard but if it stops at 80k it will be lacking in features by comparison. Just a guess. I dont see why a Model X is over 100k while a Cybertruck is going to deliver so much more for 1/2 the price.

Tesla was aiming at reducing manufacturing costs, so it doesn't surprise me that the Model X costs more than the CT. Autopilot is an $8k extra on the CT... not sure what other options will exist.

Tesla won't crab walk, so there's one big difference. Hummer has magnetic damping, something else I thing the CT lacks.

It's quite surprising that Hummer effectively made a comeback as an EV. Honestly I would rather expect some sort of hybrid setup, as it may not be so easy to find a power outlet in the middle of some hardcore off-road course.

Makes sense to me. I can't think of a better, more accurate way to send power to where it's needed in difficult terrain. Won't look as cool without the Jeep cans of petrol or high mounted air intakes though.

Well, battery packs are modular and could be made to look like jerry cans, I suppose. How much extra range do you think an offroader needs since jeeps mostly get by on the 20 gallons onboard?

100 miles offroad really beats you up physically.

Well the original ones were mostly seen around California malls where there are lots of EV chargers now.
