Wow, those look slick. It would make putting wheel covers on so easy! It just really sucks about the price. Do you know how many you'd have to sell in order to offset the price of injection molding?

Edit: Have you thought about milling the caps from plastic instead of aluminum? I don't know if you can even mill plastic easily.

Those aluminium versions are already quite easy to make. Material costs per piece are quite small so almost whole price comes from labor "costs".

Injection mold costs about 8000€, paypack time is not the problem. Its the lack of that money for everything. Payback is about when 160000 pieces is sold, but of course that depends on the selling and buying price which are still open.

If you want those aluminium versions for your car send me some PR and I will try to get a better price, you might suprice .

Price can be lower is you buy the used zipties yourself. At the moment I am using Panduit:
PLT3S-CO 292mm long or 11 1/2"
PRT1S-CO 122mm long or 4 7/8"

If you know a new place you could use these plugs and need only few of them I will ship them to you for free in return of picture and description what you have attached and why. If you just want to buy 10 pcs it will cost you 10€. If you are interested get some samples send me email to vesa dot tiainen "at" tuneko dot com and tell me what you are fastening.

At this point I only have 1000 pcs of them so be fast to get yours from the first batch. What is important to me is that you can send pictures or ideas where you could use the plug.

More pictures of some assemblies can be found: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...3642791&type=1

I’m only 10 years late to the party but are these still available or is there similar product? I purchased button head zip tie plugs on Amazon but they protrude over a 1/4”. My ioniq 6 has 20 inch aluminum wheels that have a completely flat milled and polished face-I think premade carbon fiber sheets are economical enough now that they could be considered for a smooth wheel cover. Also I bought a rather expensive pack of these button head zip tie items. They work well for what they are but in my planned application there would be five buttons protruding from an otherwise completely smooth surface. The buttons are about the diameter of a US nickel and are dome shaped approximately 1/3” in height. Is this a major drawback aerodynamic wise or am I over reacting?

With so little 1/3" 8,5mm protrusion no impact that you could measure to consumption. Maybe sound might be a problem but test will show is there any sounds coming.

I currently have no stock to sell my ziptie plugs.

I Would recommend a tinted polycarbonate sheets over full carbon look. Unless you just like carbon look.
